Accessibility

A lot of the people using Curova are dealing with chemotherapy-related vision changes, cognitive fog, or neuropathy that makes small buttons genuinely unusable. Accessibility here is not a compliance exercise.

What we build to

We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA as a floor, not a ceiling. In practice that means:

  • Body text starts at 18 pixels with generous line spacing, because a lot of this site is read on a phone by someone who is tired and distracted.
  • Body text contrast is well past the AA requirement — most of the text on this site is above the stricter AAA threshold of 7:1.
  • Every button and link is at least 44 by 44 pixels.
  • Everything is reachable and operable with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
  • Headings are real headings, in order, so a screen reader can navigate the page by structure.
  • Nothing moves, scrolls or auto-plays on its own, and we honor your system setting for reduced motion.
  • Status is never communicated by color alone. Where a match criterion is met or unmet, it says so in words.
  • Text can be resized to 200% and the layout reflows rather than clipping.

What we know is imperfect

We would rather list this than claim it does not exist.

  • The Curova app at app.cancercurova.com is a separate product with a separate codebase. Its accessibility is tracked separately from this website, and this statement does not cover it.
  • Third-party content we link to, including trial records on ClinicalTrials.gov, is outside our control.
  • We test with keyboard navigation and automated tooling on every release. We do not yet have a formal audit by an external accessibility organization.

Tell us about a problem

If something on this site does not work for you, we want to hear about it, and you do not need to know the technical reason or the standard involved. "The text is too small to read on my phone" is a completely useful report.

Email support@cancercurova.com or use the contact form and pick "an accessibility problem with this site". Please tell us the page and roughly what device you were using if you can.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days and to tell you what we are going to do about it, including if the answer is that it will take a while.

If you need the information another way

If any content on this site is inaccessible to you, ask us and we will get it to you in a different format. That is not a special favor, it is the point.
